Joshua Choi | 2007 lauréat
For me, painting is not about emotions or past experiences. It’s about relationship between various shapes of color and tone, and more importantly, the physical nature of the subject and the medium used to represent it.
This involves further investigation of the texture of paint layers and the relationship between them. The painting becomes more than a window of 3 dimensional illusion.
